Bobbie J Allen passed from this life to her heavenly home on April 20, 2023, she was born on March 20, 1930, in San Angelo, Texas to Laura and Jack Burns. As a young person, she accepted Christ and was baptized at Immanuel Baptist church.
Bobbie graduated from San Angelo high school in 1947 where she was honored to be the Bobcat Band Sweetheart and then attended San Angelo Junior College.
She married Bill Allen of Robert Lee in 1951. They lived a short time in San Antonio, Texas and Laurel, Maryland while Bill was in the army before making their lifetime home in Robert Lee, Texas.
Bobbie worked at Robert Lee State Bank with her husband and father-in-law. She was on the board at the Robert Lee Housing Authority, a member of the Coke County Historical Committee, but her joy was teaching young girls in Sunday School and sharing Christ with them at Robert Lee Baptist church, where she was a member for 71 years.
Bobbie was blessed with three lifelong friends from grade school, known by their daughters as the "Ya-Ya's", Norma Sherman, Bernice Clay, and Gerry Boatright. They loved the years together through visits and many travels.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband Bill Allen, parents, mother and father-in-law Ione and Gerald Allen.
She is survived by her daughter, Sterling Myers (Stephen) son, Clay Allen (Robin), grandson, Foster Allen, (Lindsey,) grandchildren, Shannon Honse Mayes (Cody,) and Kevin Honse, great grandchildren, Canton, Sutton, Crager, and Tucker.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 24th at the Shaffer Funeral Home in Robert Lee from 11 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 25th at 10 AM at Robert Lee Baptist Church. Burial to follow at Robert Lee Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home online condolences can be made at ww.shafferpioneer.com.
