Christian Messenger, February 12, 1873 " In Memoriam - William L Bent, MD, died at Digby, January 25th , aged 74 years. He was one of the first persons baptized at Digby, and with several others formed the Digby Baptist Church. Through the exertions of Dr. Bent the chapel was erected on a lot of land given by him, he with another aged member of the church were the chief supporters of the Baptist cause for many years. On the following Sunday, the funeral sermon was preached by the pastor, Reverend JM Parke."
