Joan R. Ansay of Belgium was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the age of 90. She was born to Erwin and Rose Rosewitz in Port Washington on February 25, 1933. She married the love of her life Francis Ansay on September 12, 1953 at St. Mary's, also in Port Washington. This year the couple would have celebrated 70 years of marriage. Together Joan and Francis had two children.

Joan was a proud graduate from Port Washington High School. She and Francis worked on the Ansay dairy farm in Belgium until their retirement in 1990. From there they moved to Lake Church and Joan took a 15 year position at the Walmart in Saukville. The couple were long time members of St. Mary's Lake Church and Divine Savior Holy Cross. Joan was very active at church with the Christian Ladies, prayer and worship committee.

She enjoyed the couples card club and played for 65 years. Joan was a den mother for the Cub Scouts when her children were growing up as well as a general leader for the Holy Cross 4-H club. She was a member of the Belgium Legion Women's Auxiliary. Joan enjoyed working at "Breakfast on the Farm" and in the Farm Bureau tent at the county fair. Joan also stayed busy in assisting the Luxembourg American Culture Society in identifying many of the Vern Arndt photos.

Joan's memory will be cherished by her husband Francis, her children Daniel (Ardell) Ansay and Gerri (Roy) Bichler; grandchildren Erin (Derek) Hobbs, Katie (Matt) Graziano, Eric Bichler, Jason (Meghan) Bichler and Ryan Bichler; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters Jean (Joe) Gasser, Janice Albrecht, and Diane (Al) Zettler; brother-in-law Sylvester Prom. Joan is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by sister Mary Ann (Don) Liermann; brothers and sisters-in-law Ronald Albrecht, Marjorie (Rich) Harns, Madeline Prom and Arno (Luella) Ansay.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00PM on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Divine Savior Catholic Parish – Holy Cross Chapel, 5330 Co Rd. B, Belgium, WI 53004. The family will receive visitors at the church from 4:00-5:45PM. Joan will be laid to rest at St. Mary's, Lake Church/Belgium.
