Major Charles Roger Abbott (ret), 69, of Macon, GA, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Hart's Mortuary, Cupola Chapel, with the Reverend Chris Barbee officiating.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Piedmont Church Building Fund, 6258 Thomaston Rd., Macon, GA 31220.

Son of the late James Landrell Abbott, Mr. Abbott was a retired Major in the United States Army with 20 years of service.  He earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Central Arkansas and his masters from Western Kentucky University.  He later went on to become a Senior Army Instructor for the JROTC program at Central High School for several years.

Mr. Abbott was a member of Piedmont Church.  He loved his family, fishing, and hunting.  He was an Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan.
In addition to his father, Mr. Abbott was preceded in death by his nephew, Kevin Abbott.
