Mary Elizabeth Haley, aka, "Libby Thompson," was not Squirrel Tooth Alice, and was not married to Texas Billy Thompson.

Texas Billy Thompson was a brother to Ben Thompson, Austin's gambler, gunfighter, and City Marshal. Both Ben and Texas Billy Thompson were born in Knottingley, England, and came to America in the 1850s. Texas Billy Thompson did not have a middle name, did not marry, and he DID NOT HAVE ANY CHILDREN especially with Mary Elizabeth Haley "Libby Thompson."

In the 1860 Johnson County Census, Mary Elizabeth Haley "Libby Thompson" is five years old, living with her parents James and Mary C. Rayburn Haley, sisters Susan 1, and Sarah Jane, a newborn.

In the 1870 Granbury, Hood County Census, Mary Elizabeth Haley "Libby Thompson" is sixteen years old living with her parents James and Mary Haley, sisters Sarah Jane 14, Anne 12, Dora 8, and brother James Haley 3.
