Alvero A. Bard, son of Warren W. and Augusta (Bullock) Bard, married Ella E. Allen on June 21, 1905 in Lapeer, Michigan, but they divorced on June 29, 1908 in Caro, Michigan. Alvero and Ella had one child, Sarah Lucile Bard, who died on November 10, 1908. According to the list of burials for Riverside Cemetery where Sarah was buried, her father Alvero was living in Vassar and her mother Ella was living in Detroit at the time of her death.

At the time of the 1910 US Federal Census, Alvero was living in Deerfield Township, Lapeer Conty, Michigan, with an aunt, Margaret Bard, where he was listed as a widower. When the 1920 census was taken, Alvero was still living in Deerfield Township, Lapeer, but with a cousin Martin Bard, and he was listed as married. In 1930 he was still a member of his cousin Martin Bard's household, but was listed as a widower.
