Dale Holland Davis is the grandfather of my oldest son, Jeremy Paul, pictured with his grandmother, Jeri. Haroldeen "Jeri" Jenson Fields . Sadly, Dale, you never answered calls to meet and love them all. Such a large part of your life was lost.

This is from his obituary:
Dale Holland Davis. He was a giant, a force of nature; he was one of those men you thought would live forever. Dale Davis is a rare breed of cowboy that you won't find anymore today. He was the most honorable and honest man you could have ever met. His word was as good as gold, and he was never afraid to speak his mind. He always stood up for his beliefs and never backed down from a fight. He impacted the lives of every person who knew him and left behind a lasting legacy.
Surrounded by his family, he left this earth to arrive in his heavenly home on August 24, 2022. He was 87 years old. His visitation will be at 12:30 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Green Hills Funeral Home with Rev. J.C. Turner and Rev. Steve Carson officiating. Cleavy Johnson, Tucker Johnson, Don Hicks, Bo Davis, Randy Davis, and Sam Davis will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Benjamin Orr and Delmas Norman. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
Anyone who knows him will speak of how hardworking and tough he was. However, those closest to him will tell you stories of his kindness, the smiles he freely gave, and a sense of humor that never failed to make you laugh even when he wasn't trying. He loved his family and always ensured he was there to support and provide for them in every possible way.
He loved God and always kept his faith close to his heart. He dedicated his life to agriculture and tending to the land God gave him. From raising foals and turning them into good ranch horses or helping cows birth their calves, he did it all. He even was known to hand feed some of the alligators on his ranch in Briar Hill. He always knew how to grow a good crop and raise beautiful livestock. His favorite season was springtime because it meant new life and growth on the ranch. He passed an appreciation and love for that way of life to his children and grandchildren. Dale always worked hard to take care of the land and the animals that call it home, which he did every day of his life.
Loving survivors include his wife of 60 years, Shirley Davis; children, Kevin Davis and Kim Davis; grandchildren, Megan Orr (Ben) and Abbie Davis; great-grandchild Holland Orr; and his siblings, Gary Davis, Merle Davis Gray, and Aubrey Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mason and Abbie Davis, and his siblings Sam Davis, Clyde Davis, Era Mae Prochazia, and Adale Fowler. He was my biggest encourager, dearest friend, and greatest teacher. He taught me absolutely everything in my life except how to live in a world that he is no longer in. The loss of him leaves an insurmountable hole that can never be filled. I can't even begin to put into words how truly and remarkably special he was and just how much he was completely loved by us by me.
When you think of my Grandad, remember him smiling while he rides through the pasture on his horse, herding cows with his dogs by his side.
