Evening Independent - January 18, 1910

Miss Kate Maier, aged 75 years, daughter of the late Jacob Maier, died at 8 o'clock Monday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beard, at DeKalb, Ill., of pneumonia. Miss Maier formerly lived in Massillon. She left for the west about thirty-five years ago and had been living in Dekalb, Ill. The body will be accompanied by J. A. Beard and will be brought here for burial, arriving Thursday at 12:45. Interment will be made in the West Brookfield cemetery. Upon its arrival in the city, the body will be taken to the home of a nice of the deceased, Mrs. L. P. Wefler, 88 Duncan street, where the funeral will be held. Surviving are a sister, Rose Alden of this city, and four brothers, Godfrey and David Maier, of Massillon; George Maier, of Cincinnati, and Charles Maier, of Canton. The hour of the funeral will be announced later.
