BATKINS, Susan Dale, 68, died after a brief illness on April 28, 2023. She was predeceased by her parents, Pearl and Tyler Batkins; and her brother, Steve Batkins. She is survived by her sister, Kay Snead; sister-in-law, Charlene Batkins; nieces, Sara Nida (Travis) and Tori Bennett (Rory); and nephew, Drew Batkins (Rachael); as well as other family and countless friends. Most importantly, she is survived by the lights of her life, her grandnieces, Alexa Nida and Amelia Bennett. Dale was incomparable - words won't do her justice. Dale was funny - an incredible storyteller, and she never met a stranger. She loved to learn about new things - forever going down Google rabbit holes and sharing what she'd learned. Dale loved being in the sun - either by a pool or at the beach, and her generosity of spirit was unmatched. She had charisma, a magnetic personality and the quickest of wits. We will miss her tremendously. The family will receive visitors at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2023, followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. at Bliley's Funeral Home, 3801 Augusta Ave., Richmond, Va. A livestream of the service can be found at www.blileys.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, Richmond SPCA, or LifeNet Health.
