Ms. Litha Davis Smith, 79, of Barbourville, passed away Sunday morning, April 30, 2023 at the Buchanan Place Health and Rehabilitation Center in New Tazewell, TN. She was the daughter of the late F. M. Davis Jr. and Virgie Messer Davis born on August 12, 1943 at Mills.

Litha was a homemaker and a member of the Roadside Baptist Church. She was known to be a family minded person. Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her much joy. Litha also loved Sunday lunches with Mark Steven Miracle and Bill Buchanan and shopping and talking on the phone with Mona Jean Owens, whom she loved like a sister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Denver, Clarence and infant Ben Franklin Davis and a great granddaughter, Chelsea Ann Spencer.

Survivors include her loving daughters, Sherrie Messer and husband, Clifford, of Flat Lick and Rhonda Jackson and husband, Jimmy, of Corbin; three sisters, Patricia Merritt and husband, Tony, of Barbourville, Evelyn Gray of Corbin and Lois Smith of London; two brothers, M. G. Davis of Corbin and Hobert Davis and wife, Linda, of Barbourville; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, May 5 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Tip Smith and Nathaniel Messer officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Davis Cemetery at Acorn Fork.

Her grandsons will serve as casket bearers.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
