See Obit, which was taken from the Cerro Gordo County Republican, Thursday, Jan 11, 1900 an early Mason City newspaper. Posted by Mark Suby and I am her third great grandson. I believe the stone with I.A.W. Kirk to be her husband. The dates match her obit, as to when her husband died. She is buried next him according to the her obit. His name is James W. Kirk. The obituary fails to mention the second oldest son James B. Kirk who died in the Civil War and was part of a special group called the Mississippi Marine Brigade. His body was buried on the bank of the Mississippi River in Tensas County, Louisiana. The family was one of Mason City, Iowa's earliest settlers and prominent in the early history of Mason City, Iowa
