Robin Renee Allen, 49, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at her residence. She was born May 4, 1964, Martin in Shelbyville. Survivors include her "very special beloved" companion, father ; mother, ; son, daughter two brothers: ; three sisters: six nieces, six nephews, and several uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and her dog, Angus. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; niece, Heather L. Chaney; and her beloved dogs, Daphney and Babe. Ms. Allen was a respiratory therapy technician at Major Hospital, retiring in 2014 after 14 years of service. She was a member of AARC and NBRC.Ms. Allen was a member of the Baptist faith.Robin was a very compassionate person and dedicated to her career. The family wishes to thank Major Hospital, Benesse Oncology Center, Our Hospice of South Central Indiana and the Shelby County Cancer Society for the care and support they have provided throughout her illness. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville, IN 46176. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. David Humphrey officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, ASPCA, Jerry's Kids, Major Hospital Foundation, Shelby County Cancer Sociey or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in care of the funeral home.
