MISSING 1982
The remains of a woman wearing high heels and a gold ring who was found dead in rural Indiana in 1982 have been identified as those of a Wisconsin woman who was 20 when she vanished more than four decades ago, authorities said.

The remains are those of Connie Lorraine Christensen, who was from the Madison, Wisconsin-area community of Oregon, said Lauren Ogden, chief deputy coroner of the Wayne County Coroner's Office.

Hunters discovered Christensen's then-unidentified remains in December 1982 near Jacksonburg, a rural community about 60 miles east of Indianapolis, Ogden said. She had died from a gunshot wound and her homicide case remains unsolved.

Before she went missing in 1982, she had been married in 1980, and had a 1 year old daughter.

After being missing more than 40 years, Connie's remains were identified in November 2022; she was laid to rest with other family members on April 15, 2023. She is now with her parents Neal W., Jr., and Winifred Christensen, and younger brother Jeff, all of Oregon, Wisconsin. Connie was survived by her brothers and sisters.

If Connie were still with us, she would be surrounded by all of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, aunts, uncles, and many cousins from both sides of the family. Connie would have been an amazing mother to her only daughter Misty LaBean and her husband Dan LaBean. She never had the chance to be a great and loving grandmother to her three grandchildren, all of Flint, Michigan.
