Obituary for Eliza Ellen Morris Busby, Amboy Independent, Amboy, Miami, Indiana, February 12, 1926, page 1, column 1
ELIZA ELLEN BUSBY
Eliza Ellen Busby, daughter of Ephram and Mary Morris, was born near Anderson, Ind., June 28, 1841; departed this life Feb. 5, 1926, at the ripe age of 84 years, 7 months, and 7 days.
On Dec. 11, 1864, she happily united in marriage to Thomas M. Busby, with whom she lived and loved and labored for over sixty years.
To this union were born three children, Augustus E. of Anderson, Silas E. of Converse, and Hester E. York, with whom she lived for many years. Besides these children is Albert Frazee of Columbus, Ohio, whom she raised from infancy, all of whom, together with the bereaved husband, are left to mourn their loss.
The first nine years of her married life were spent in Madison county, Ind. The family then moved to Miami county, where they have since resided.
Early in life she was converted and at the age of 21 she united with the Christian church. In 1891, together with her husband, she united with the Congregational church at Amboy and remained a member until the church disbanded. In her church life she was ever an active, consistent, and devoted member.
In 1913 she met with an accident which left her an invalid the rest of her life. During the long years that followed, she was tenderly cared for by the loving hands of her husband and daughter, who ministered to her day and night. Nothing was left undone by those near and dear to her to make her lot in life easier.
It is a source of joy, even in the dark hour of sorrow, to the host of surviving relatives and friends, to know that she has entered an eternal habitation where there is no more pain, no twisted forms, but where sunshine, health and happiness reign supreme, and where her Savior is Master of all.
The words of the poet might well have been addressed to her:
"Thy day has come, not gone,
Thy sun has risen, not set;
Thy life is now beyond
The reach of change or death,
Not ended, but begun.
O noble soul! O gentle heart!
