Mary Jane Nash, 82, died May 5 at Providence Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Butte, Mont., with Father Gregory Burke officiating. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery in Butte.

Mrs. Nash was born Nov. 17, 1910, in Westhoughton, Lancashire, England. She came to the United States at the age of 12, and lived in West Virginia, then Montana. She graduated from Girls Central High School in Butte and from St. James Hospital School of Nursing in Butte. After a brief career in nursing, Mrs. Nash served on the St. James Hospital Auxiliary Association and was its president for many of those years. She enjoyed playing bridge and attending University of Notre Dame football games. She also enjoyed traveling and had visited her family in Alaska 23 times.

Mrs. Nash is survived by three sons, Edward and Thomas of Anchorage, and Lawrence of Littleton, Colo.; one sister, Lucille Speer of Modesto, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
