No. 49, Denver
At a special meeting of the Denver Typographical Union, No. 49, called to give expression of their sentiments and feelings, in view of a dispensation of Providence, by which one of the most worthy members of the Union was removed from among them, the following Preamble and Resolutions were unanimously adopted.
Whereas, it has pleased Almighty God to take from us by the hand of death, our worthy and well beloved fellow craftsman, David Garland Cobb, therefore,
Resolved, that in the life and purity of character of the deceased, we recognized that true type of nature's nobleman that should be our examplar for our earthly future.
Resolved, that in the death of David Garland Cobbs, society has lost one of its most useful members; the craft one of the best and purest followers of the "Art preservative," and this Union one of its most honorable and influential of officers.
Resolved, the we extend our heats and deepest sympathies to the relations and friends of the deceased, and claim a share in their loss, as he by his long connections, and faithful upright course with us, had become endeared as friend and brother.
Resolved, that copies of this preamble and resolution be presented to the brother and wired to the parents of the deceased and that the papers of this city be required to publish the same.
