Myrtle Grace "Dolly" Redden, 102, of Bloomington, IL, passed away at 11:11 P.M. Monday May 8, 2023, at Carriage Crossing in Bloomington.

She was born April 10, 1921, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Dewey and Leta (Summers) Hogge. She married George Alfred Redden on October 31, 1941, in Selma, AL. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Jan Morgan (Scott) Preston of Hoopeston, IL and Georganne (Mike) Morris of Bloomington, IL; one son, Rex Redden of Alpine, TX; ten grandchildren, Elisa, Katie, Andy, Clint, Clay, Tony, Lydia, Meredith, Laura, and Madeline; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dewey Jr.

Dolly was a homemaker, caring for her family. As a military wife, she enjoyed traveling and lived overseas in Turkey and Japan. She was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church and served as a board member for the John Wesley Fellowship of Illinois. Dolly was also a member of Christian Women's Clubs. She was a certified lay speaker who was in-demand nationally. In addition to speaking, her hobbies included playing bridge, bingo, and dominoes and traveling on mission trips. At the age of 93, Dolly became an author, writing "Songs I Must Sing" and took her first motorcycle ride at the age of 95.

A private graveside service will be held, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
