MATTHEW THOMPSON OBITUARY
Corporal Matthew Alan Thompson, I, M.P.D. -- A native of Manchester, VT and a resident of Semmes, AL since 1980 years died Thursday, February 12, 2004, in a local hospital. Corporal Thompson was an eighteen-year veteran of the Mobile Police Department serving as acting sergeant of squad #2 in the Fourth Precinct. He spent five years as a homicide investigator with the Mobile Police Department, began his law enforcement career as a Chickasaw police officer for a year and a half. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Lee Ann Hardin Thompson; three children, Danielle Thompson, Matthew A. Thompson, II and Charrlene Thompson, all of Semmes, AL; his parents, Maurice G. 'Moe' Thompson and Martha K. Thompson, of Manchester, VT; two sisters, Jennifer Sprague, of Manchester, VT and Rebecca Denofer, of Rutland, VT; two brothers, Michael Thompson, of Manchester, VT and Daniel Thompson, of Canaa, NH; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, February 16, 2004, from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. for the public and 8 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. for law enforcement. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery West, on Snow Road. Funeral arrangements by RADNEY FUNERAL HOME, Dauphin Street Extension, Mobile, Alabama 36606.
