"Death of Charles Walker
The funeral of Charles Walker, who died at his home on Penn street on Friday of last week from miners' consumption, took place on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, interment being made in the Odd Fellows' cemetery.
He was twice elected Supervisor of this borough. He was 74 years of age and had been a resident of Tamaqua for the past fifty-two years. His birth-place was in England. He leaves eight children, who are as follows: Mrs. Frank Lyniz [sic], Hazleton; Mrs. Charles Anderson, Kan; Mrs. Charles Nahf, Mrs. Edward Shane [sic], John and Joseph Walker and Miss Tillie and Miss Carrie Walker, all of town. Rev. Humphries, of the Primitive Methodist Church, officiated at the funeral service."
