'DEATH FROM SNAKE BITE,
LEVEN LAD SUCCUMBS.
Allan Radford, a boy aged 11 years, son of Mr. William Radford, of Upper
Castra , died yesterday morning in the (Ulverston Hospital from snake bite.
He and another boy were in the bush about 5 o'clock on Friday evening, where
he was bitten on one of his legs ' by a snake. Ho was brought to the hospital
at 11 o'clock on Saturday morning where he was examined by Dr. Ferris,
who found the lad suffering severely. He was placed under, treatment, but
never rallied, and died as stated.

Funeral. The funeral of the late Allan Radford took place on Tuesday
afternoon, when there was a large number of people present to pay the
last tokens of respect. The remains were laid to rest in the Church of England Cemetery,
Sprent. The Rev. M. Williams 'conducted the service at
the graveside, the coffin being borne to the grave by six of the deceased's fellow scholars.
