Alecia "Denece" Skaggs, age 71, of Elkins, formally of Springdale, Arkansas passed away on May 12, 2023 surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 23, 1951 in Huntsville, Arkansas to the late Wanda Roach and raised by her late uncle and aunt, Floyd and Louis Nothdurft.

She enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren, watching TV, McDonald's fish sandwiches and a refreshing Coke Cola. Denece attended First Baptist in Springdale for over 30 years and loved their Evangelism Explosion Movement going door-to-door witnessing about the Lord. Her family will remember her love of singing and her servants' heart. Denece was loved greatly and will be missed terribly.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mack Arthur Skaggs and two sisters.

Denece is survived by three children, Marsha (Dean) Parker of Elkins, James Skaggs of Springdale and Rebecca Skaggs of Bella Vista; three grandchildren, Chelsea (Jarred) Cooper, Chris (Rachael) Parker, Zack (Kristie) Parker and adoptive granddaughter, Laci Logue all of Elkins; four great grandchildren, Gavin Bowen, Alyssa Bowen and Carson Parker, Danni Parker, Sawyer Carlton; one sister and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2023 at Heritage Funeral Home in Springdale, Arkansas with Minister Dean Parker and Brother Russell Shackelford officiating. Committal service will be 3:00 p.m. that same day at Oark Cemetery in Oark, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Chris parker, Zack Parker, Jimmy Skaggs and Bill Hopson.
