Billy was born December 29, 1928 in Briggs TX. He considered Corpus Christi his hometown and had been a resident since 1936. He graduated from Corpus Christi High School with over 1,000 hours of woodshop and machinist classes. Billy was a masterful patternmaker and was employed at Gustafson Mfg. Company, Reynolds Metals and Hess Oil & Chemical. He was an active member and Deacon of Parkdale Baptist Church and Jointed First Baptist Church in 2010. Billy served in the U.S. Army from 1953 – 1955 in Tacoma WA.
He was predeceased by his first love, wife of 51 years and mother of his children, Oleta Adams Preslar and Wynona Ramsey Preslar, wife of 15 years; his parents, Gladys & W. Oscar Preslar, siblings: Frances Phelps of Corpus Christi TX, Jimmy Preslar of Robstown TX and Charles Preslar of Katy TX, his beloved aunts: Exa Lee of Manchaca TX and Alberta Mallet of Austin TX and grandson, Brandon Kennedy of Corpus Christi TX.
In the Fall of 2021, Billy G Preslar relocated to the Dayton TX area and in 2022 joined The Bradford Memory Care and Assisted Living Community in Humble TX. Billy's daughters appreciate The Bradford and Devotion Hospice care team members for their dedication, compassion, and kindness.
