MRS. LEAVELL DIES SUNDAY

Mrs. J. H. (Rose Etta ) Leavell of Texico, 68, died Sunday morning, Sept. 19, in Clovis Memorial Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. Services were held Tuesday morning, Sept. 21, in Charles V. Steed Memorial Chapel. Burial was in Texico Cemetery under the direction of Steed-Todd Funeral Home.

Mrs. Leavell was born in Pope County, Ark., on Sept. 11, 1903. She moved to New Mexico in 1932. She arrived in Texico approximately 10 years later and made her home here.

She was a member of Primitive Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away last year.

Pallbearers for the funeral were Arlye Crooks, R. E. Crooks, John Guthals, Eugene Guthals, Joe Crain and Bill Christian.

Mrs. Leavell is survived by two sons, Howard of Texico and Mark of Dallas, one daughter, Mrs. Doris Crain of CeeVee, Tex.; and three grandchildren.
