Nov. 12, 1947 - March 18, 2008

Gary S. Osborne, 60, Kokomo, died at 7:27 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born Nov. 12, 1947, in Kokomo, the son of Victor E. and Coreda J. (DeWitt) Osborne. On Feb. 14, 1986, in Kokomo, he married Deborah M. Gifford, who survives.

Gary owned and operated Osborne's Bump & Paint and had been employed by Mark's Friendly Cab.

He served as the president of the Kokomo Housing Authority Advocate Board for Garden Square. Gary was an avid Elvis fan, he enjoyed NASCAR, the Colts, and wood crafts. He was a longtime We Care contributor and loved the Hope Doll. He will be remembered most as a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Deborah Osborne, are his two sisters, Edna L. Smith, Kokomo, and Connie J. Osborne, Texas; one brother, Victor E. Osborne Jr. and his wife, Coby, Kokomo; a special sister-in-law, Diane (Osborne) Anderson, Kokomo; six children, Gary S. Osborne Jr. and his wife, April, Jeffrey L. Osborne, Christine L. Seamster and her special friend, James B. Linzey, Dawn M. Wright and her husband, Billy L., Amanda E. Morgan and her husband, Matthew A. and Eric E. Smith and his special friend, Zola Davis; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters, and one daughter, Teresa M. Osborne.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with brother Bill Hale and brother Joe Gifford officiating. Burial will follow in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
