Mr. Ard was born on June 4, 1951 in Florence County, son of the late LaVoyd Moses Ard and Von Dora Powell Ard. He was a graduate of Hannah-Pamplico High School and Florence Darlington Technical College. Mr. Ard was employed with Hyman Drug of Pamplico, Carolina Candy & Tobacco Co., and later retired as a supervisor from Delta Mills. His hobbies includes photography, computer science, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Judy H. Ard of Pamplico; son, Brent LaNeir (Bob George) Ard of Marion; daughter, Brooke Ard (Javon) Kennedy of Myrtle Beach and Karen Gandy of Florence; grandchildren, Cayden L. Kennedy, Amber-Lee (Fiancé - Jeremy) Gandy, Dylan C. Gandy and Mattie D. Gandy; sisters, Dora (Joseph) Cook of Scranton and Rose (Johnny) Driggers of Pamplico.
Mr. Ard was preceded in death by sister, Genever Miles; and brothers, Bobby Dean Ard, David Ard and Curtis Ard.
