HILLSBORO - Mary Lou Boner, 89, of Hillsboro died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Hillsboro Area Hospital.

She was born Nov. 7, 1918, in Benton, the daughter of Paul M. and Mary Baclet Taylor. She married Lewis Edward Boner on Jan. 1, 1940, in Paducah, Ky.; he preceded her in death. A brother and sister also preceded her in death.

She worked for the Illinois Department of Public Health for more than 25 years as a health inspector for long-term care facilities.

Surviving are a daughter, Brenda (husband, Don) Edwards of Hillsboro; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Taylor of Naples, Fla.; and sister, Gladys Norman of Denver.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Bass, Patton, Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2008, at First Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro, with the Rev. Matt Ferguson, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro, officiating. Graveside services and burial will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2008, in Boner Cemetery in West Frankfort.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro, Hillsboro Sports Association, Hillsboro Education Foundation and Hillsboro Area Health Foundation.
