Judy enjoyed beginning her life's journey on a farm south of town, but gathering eggs and seeing any type of rodent were not included in her likes! Working with her pony, Sunny, was a fun pastime, and as she grew older, her love for dogs grew. She had several through the years, but Daisy held a special spot in her heart. Judy was involved in 4-H where she learned and showed home economic projects. As a senior in high school, she was elected as Historian. She was also a "Volunteen" (a candy striper at the hospital).
Judy graduated from Jefferson High School in 1969 and could always be found at class reunions. She went on to Ellsworth Community College. AMF was her first "real" job, and she enjoyed working there alongside her coworkers.
Judy married Richard Burnell in 1976, and together they raised their daughter, Christie, on the Burnell homeplace north of Jefferson and west of Paton. Christie provided them with four grandchildren who were the absolute apples of Judy's eyes. She loved them fiercely and was always toting anything they may need to their activities.
Judy was full of life and caring for others, particularly her husband, Rich. They enjoyed traveling to Canada, Costa Rica and a variety of places in Mexico. Judy enjoyed the sun and beaches the best and loved getting a deep, dark tan. But Judy's heart was in the country, and she never wanted to move from the great treasures of her flowers, birds and open spaces.
During her years of golf and cards she had many fond times with Booray group. Judy enjoyed that time together immensely, whether traveling the world or getting together in someone's basement. She was involved in many clubs and always loved an adventure in Questers. She and Rich were ISU Cyclone fans.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Ronnie and Dennis Jordan; mother-in-law, Madeline Burnell; brother-in-law, Buzz Burnell and sister-in-law, Candace Burnell.
