Daisy Viola Wilcher, 82 of Crosby died on Wednesday April 26, 2006 at the Northeast Medical Center Hospital in Humble. She was born on August16, 1923 to Parents: A. K. Bogie and Lillie Mae Sykes Bogie in Baskin, Louisiana. She was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother. She was able to put three families together and make it work, with the Yours, Mine and Ours theory that really did work. She lived for children and grandchildren and devoted her entire life to her family and was a member of the Woodridge Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. A very strong lady, she had worked picking cotton as a young woman and was even a welder during World War II. She is preceded in death by her Parents: A. K. and Lillie Bogie; Son: Frankie Dewayne Wilcher; Daughter: Julia Annette Dugat; Grandchildren: Perry Keith Thornton, Korey Dewayne Wilcher, Melvin Scott Blakley and Shelia Dianne McBeth; Sister: Fannie Hart and Brother: Jesse Bogie. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 28, 2006 from 5:00 P. M. until 9:00 P. M. at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton. She is survived by her Sons: Joe Kenneth Evans and his wife Jean of Monroe, LA., Jimmy Wilcher and his wife Nelda of Houston, Daryl Wayne Caston and his wife Delores of Dunn, LA., Terry Wilcher and his wife Dora of Houston and Randy Wilcher of Crosby; Daughters: Judy Marie Blakley and her husband Melvin of West Monroe, LA., June Moore and her husband Bill of Ratcliff, TX., Virginia Sykes of Santa Fe, TX., and Patricia Bareis of Crosby; Brothers and Sisters: Bernice, Ruby, Louise, Wesley and A. G.; 27 Grandchildren and over 50 Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren as well as numerous Nieces and Nephews and other friends and relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Viola Wilcher will be held at 10:30 A. M. on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton with the Rev. Andrew Provasek officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton.
