Alene Elleman, 40 years old, died at 1:15 o'clock Wednesday morning in her home, 429 Fairview Avenue, following a long illness.

Born March 4, 1918, in Arkansas, the daughter of Dorsie Neal Cheek, Sr & Hersie Bower Cheek. Mrs. Elleman had lived in Baxter Springs for many years.

Surviving are her husband, Donald Knight Elleman, a minister of the Jehovah's Witnesses congeration of Baxter Springs; a son, Donald Wayne of the home; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. D.N. Cheek, Sr. of Melrose,KS; two sisters, Natalie Anderson of Melrose, KS and Retha Pickering of Bartlett, KS.
and three brothers J.C. Cheek, Neal Cheek, Jr; of Bartlett,KS, and Thurman L. Cheek of Wichita, KS.

One brother D. H. Cheek preceeded her in death, he was senior in Columbus High School.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Baxter Springs Youth Center. Mr. W.S. Olson, a minister of the Jehovah Witness, will officate.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Chetopa, Kansas, under direction of the Wene Funeral Home of Baxter Springs, KS.

Pallbearers will be Ted Edens, Herschel Woods, Grover Warren, Robert Adkins, James Henson and Burt Rider.
