Obituary for LeRoy Adams
LeRoy Adams, 89, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away Friday, May 19, 2023 at Homestead of Shawnee.
LeRoy was born January 24, 1934 in Kansas City, Kansas the son of Everett and Maggie Adams. On September 2, 1950 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Ruth, who preceded him in death.
LeRoy was a remarkable individual who found immense joy in a variety of activities. His love for restoring old cars was evident in the countless hours he dedicated to bringing them back to their former glory. He was a true cowboy and enjoyed horseback riding and watching westerns. He and Ruth had an RV. They traveled to many places and made great memories. Accompanying them on these journeys was the timeless music of Johnny Cash, LeRoy's favorite artist. He was known for his mischievous spirit and a good sense of humor. He loved pulling pranks, lightening the mood wherever he went, and ensuring laughter echoed in every room. However, above all else, LeRoy's greatest source of happiness was his family. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, creating lifelong memories and strengthening the bonds that meant the world to him.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Ruth; parents Everett and Maggie Adams; and five siblings, Erma Adams, Lillian White, Harold Adams, Annabelle Corp, and Guy Adams Sr.
LeRoy is survived by two children, Anita Yarbrough (Bruce) and Tom Adams (Penny); five grandsons, Bruce Yarbrough, Jr., Adam Yarbrough, Nick Adams, Kurt Adams, and Kyle Adams; and great grandchildren, Zack Yarbrough, Abi Yarbrough, Luke Green, Joseph Green, Colin Adams, Kelsey Adams, Heinrich Adams, Johannes Adams, and Warren Adams.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM with Funeral Services beginning at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the Maple Hill Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at the Maple Hill Cemetery.
