Mr. Battin, of 6700 E. Bluebird Lane, Scottsdale, was born in Wirt County, W. Va., and he came to Arizona in 1958 from Piqua, Ohio. He served for three years as a Marine in World War II.
He operated a Phoenix accounting firm and was a partner in Insulated Building Materials Co. of Phoenix.
Mr. Battin was a member and past secretary of Scottsdale Lions Club and chairman of the official board of Scottsdale Methodist Church, where he had been treasurer and a teacher. He also was a member of the El Zaribah Shrine and of the Masonic Lodge in Marion, Ohio, and served as comptroller of the Arizona Club.
Surviving are his wife, Betty; a son, Alan; two daughters, Carol and Patricia, all of Scottsdale; his mother, Mrs. Flossie H. Battin of Parkersburg, W. Va.; and two sisters living out of state.
