Charles Holman Anderson, "Chuck," died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022. He was born May 19, 1946, in Atlanta to the late Muriel Mobley Anderson and Charles Holman. Chuck grew up in Fort Gaines, Ga., where he and his sister later became part of a larger family when his mother married Gerald Von Anderson.

Chuck was a graduate of Castle Heights Academy in Lebanon, Tenn., attended Oxford College of Emory University and graduated from the University of Georgia. He worked for many years alongside his first wife as the owner of George's Furniture in Baxley, Ga., and continued his career in retail when he moved back to Atlanta in 1990. After his retirement and the death of his partner of more than 25 years, David Bouseman, he moved to St. Simons Island to be near his daughter and granddaughter. He was a loyal Georgia Bulldog fan, enjoyed watching golf and the Atlanta Braves.

He is survived by his daughter, Martha Greer Anderson; son, Thomas Brown Anderson-Dallaire (Bruce); granddaughter, Mobley Grace Ward; his brother, Jerry Anderson (Sally); his sisters, Kevin Baxley (Tom), Joy Brown, and Gay Wright (Frank); his aunts, Carol Binns (Joe) and Norma Jack Driebe; and his first wife, Mary Katherine Arens. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Mick Anderson; and his grandparents, Rosalie and Ward Mobley.

The service will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7 at St. Simons Presbyterian Church.
