Faye was first married to Joseph Clarence Simmons on 4 Sept 1947. From that union they had three sons, Joseph Clarence Jr (Jody) Larry Wayne, and Otis Glen.

She was preceeded in death by her parents Nathan Joseph Garrett and Claudia Clementine (Mangum) mother, and one brother, Robert John Garrett.
