Helen Regina Mandel Golson, 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, after a long battle with dementia.

Helen was born on October 11, 1932, in Pensacola, and was a life-long resident. Always with a smile, so full of life and fun, mom loved fishing, gardening, and going to the casino, but her main joy was spending time with her family. Helen never met a stranger, always saw the good in people, and just loved everyone. She was truly an angel on Earth.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Benjamin F. Golson Sr.; her son, Bennie Jr.; her parents, Charlie and Mary Mandel; as well as, all of her siblings, which includes Pete, Chris, Martha, Janice, Jeanette, Bubba, Jack, and Harold.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Amargo (John); her son, Gary Golson (Linda K.); 7 grandkids; 10 great-grandkids; 2 great-great grandkids; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 5:00pm-7:00pm Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 10:00am Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Mike Mashburn officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Jack Mandel Jr., Dale Golson, Kenny Amargo, Sean Papillion, Phil Mathews, and Wyatte Golson IV.

The family would like to give special thanks to her Hospice nurse, Connie, for all the comfort, love, and support.
