On Tuesday March 14th, 2023, our sweet mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother passed away peacefully in St George, Utah at the age of 98. She was born June 6th, 1924, to Irene Winward and William Vernon Elmer in Portland, Oregon, the second youngest of seven children. Two sisters, four brothers, Lyone, Arlon Clark, Duane, Thelma, and Donna, all of whom preceded her in death.

Born just after World War I ended, she grew up in Portland area, surrounded by close family, the flowers, trees and greenery she enjoyed so much.

She lived her whole life serving and helping others and most of all living to spend time with family and friends, creating and sharing memories. She was very musical and an accomplished pianist, organist and soloist. She was widely known for her beautiful singing voice and often sang in wards, and was hired by the Presbyterian Church to sing for services. She played the organ when the Portland, Oregon Temple opened and served as a Temple Worker for the next 28 years until she moved to St George at the age of 91.. An active member of the Church, Norma served in numerous capacities including Relief Society President, Gospel Doctrine Teacher and Primary Teacher.
