Barbara Orene Holmes Kerr, 73, passed away on April 14, 2000 after a long battle against cancer. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas on July 19, 1926 to Mr. J. A. Holmes, and Ms. Willie Valentine Arthur. She was a resident of Houston, Texas most of her life She was a homemaker who loved being surrounded by family and friends. She loved and was loved by everyone she came in contact with. She was survived by her husband of 36 years, Troy Jefferson Kerr, and two children. She had six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services was held at Hilliard Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 19, 2000, followed with a graveside service at Brookside Cemetery.
