Julie Kay Stanley, 53, of Gaston, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, following a sudden heart attack at work.

Julie was born on October 6, 1969, in Muncie to the late Lloyd and Carol VanSkyock. She attended Yorktown Schools, Ivy Tech, and Ball State University. Julie worked as a Dental Technician for Micro Dental, formerly Mitch Dental Lab of Muncie for over 20 years. Julie was a hard worker. She enjoyed flowers, sunshine, and coffee. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Julie is survived by two sons, Jacob Gentry (Courtney Lockhart) and Emilio Stanley; three bonus children, Marc, Ashlie (husband Joel), and Jesika; six grandchildren, Hudson, Brinley, Anavel, Amya, Zion, and Kianna; her brother, Eric VanSkyock; two nieces, Rileigh VanSkyock and Taylor Allen (husband Garrett); a great-niece, April Allen; and many close friends and neighborhood kids she cared for.

Julie was preceded in death by her husband, George Stanley; two daughters, Alexis Nicole Delaney and Autumn Renae Gentry; and her beloved dog, Snowball.

A funeral service to celebrate Julie's life will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston. Pastor Brandon Petro will officiate. Cremation will follow services.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Tuesday, at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel.
