Larger than life and full of energy. That's how I would describe my Dad, Marty Schneider. After joining the Coast Guard in World War II, his ship brought supplies to our Marines on all the Pacific Islands. After the war, he spent some years in Los Angeles, where he met my mother. They pooled their resources, married in Las Vegas, and took a 3-year odyssey to Europe, where I was born in Germany in 1951. In all his life, he traveled to 54 countries and all 50 states. He was still driving to Florida at 90 years old and hiking into his 90's with his grandson, Aaron. He walked 3 miles a day. Always the life of the party, his optimism and zest for life kept him going until age 93, when a heart ailment finally took him from us. Anyone who had ever met him would never forget him.
