Connie Jo Bachman, 69, died on May 30 2023 at her home. She was born on July 11, 1953 at Beaver, Oklahoma the daughter of Kenneth Harvey & Almira Cordelia (Hall) Hampsten. She married Rodney Dean Bachman on May 27, 1972 at the Baptist Church of Las Lunas, NM.

Connie attended Manzano High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico and finished her senior year at Forgan High School in Forgan, Olahoma. Soon after high school she married Rodney and lived in Albuquerque while he was stationed in Hawaii. After Rodney's discharge from the Marine Corps they moved to Beaver, Oklahoma where her parents owned a family restaurant. She spent her time helping there and raising their three children. Connie worked as a bank teller and loan officer during their time in Bovina and Borger, Texas. Connie was excited for the move to Garden City. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for a short time before having the opportunity in 1993 to join Rodney at the Garden City Police Department. She started as a transcriptionist and later moved into the evidence technician position where she assisted on crime scenes, managed the intake and storage of evidence and testified in court. She was a stickler for things being done right. She retired from the Garden City Police Department in 2017 after 24 years of service. Connie enjoyed her grandchildren very much.

Connie enjoyed crocheting. She loved to make baby blankets for friends and family for their new babies. What brough Connie the most joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her Daughter- Crystal & Dan Hogie of Garden City, Son- Bill Bachman of Garden City, Brother – Dale & Gaila Hampsten of Guymon, OK, 7 Grandchildren and her life-long best friend Robbie & Elmer Hancock of Beaver, OK. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Parents, Son- Travis Bachman, Grandson- Dale Bachman and Daughter-In-Law – Danielle Bachman.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home with Rev John Harms officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 PM Friday at Garnand Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Connie Jo Bachman Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
