Carol Jean "CJ" Ketchum, 75, of Windsor, Missouri, died May 29, 2023, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo.

She was born August 4, 1947, in Clinton MO, the daughter of Syble Lee (Smith) Ketchum. Carol attended Calhoun schools and was a 1965 graduate of Calhoun High School. She worked as a personnel director for the Richards Gebauer A-10 program, retiring as a Civilian Personnel Chief after over 30 years of service. Following her retirement, Carol began a second career as a librarian for the Henry County Library, retiring for a second time in 2020. Carol took great joy in being the family historian. She championed the underdog and was a loving source of wisdom and encouragement for many through the years. Her compassion and listening ear will be missed by all who knew her. Carol was a member of the Calhoun Baptist Church.

Carol is survived by a sister, Nancy June (Lendell Cocke) Ketchum, Mimbres, NM; a niece, Lee Ann Wasson; a close friend, Carol Price and her family; and a cousin, Carrie (Ketchum) Maune and family. In addition to her mother, Carol was preceded in death by two sisters, Retta "Joyce" Wasson and Judith Anne Veuleman; and her longtime companion, Robert Adams.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial will follow at the Calhoun Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Henry County Library in care of the funeral home.
