William shot his son-in-law, (William Reed Miller) and killed him. The court found it to be self-defense. I guess we will never know why he felt he had to do that. William Jackson's daughter, Elizabeth is buried in Oaklawn Cemetery with her mother and William Miller is buried in Hazelgreen Cemetery, Hazelgreen, MO with his family and his & Elizabeth's 2 children, Clara & Andrew.
I was told William Andrew Jackson is buried alongside a road in LaClede County, MO next to some property he desperately wanted to buy and the owner would not sell.
There is a rock with carvings marking his grave. The carvings read: W. A. JACKSON Aug. 9, 1830---Aug. 1, 1913. It is in LaClede county close to Laquey. He swore to the owner, that he would "haunt" his property forever. The man's children were scared to even go to the road because they were afraid of running into William's "ghost." William was a Civil War Veteran.
