Alma J. Teeters, age 90, of Alliance, died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday March 8, 2005 at Bel-Air Care Center. Mrs. Teeters was born March 19, 1914 in Mobile, Alabama to Hugh Bernard Tierney and Sadie Mae (Fletcher) Tierney, and lived in Alliance most of her life. She graduated from Alliance High School and was the owner and operator of Alma's Antique Shop for 25 years.

Mrs. Teeters was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, where she served on the wedding committee, memorial fund committee, and was a "Cookie Lady". She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and honorary life member of the American Legion, member of Alliance Women's Club, Mount Union College Women's Club, charter member of Stark County Dental Wives, and charter member of the Volunteer Clinic. She was also a member of Alliance Garden Club and Elks Auxiliary. She was a past volunteer and flower arranger at Alliance Community Hospital, and was a life member of the Garden Club of Ohio.

She is survived by her children; Cheryl (Bob) Egan of Alliance, Thomas Tierney Teeters of Alliance, James Michael Teeters of Alliance, and David Walter Teeters of Rootstown, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Fred Gans, her husband, Dr. John W. Teeters, whom she married Sept. 29, 1933, and who died Aug. 4, 1999, one brother, Hugh B. Tierney, one sister, Adelaide Lehnis, and one infant daughter.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday March 19th at First United Presbyterian Church with Pastor William Sadler officiating. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Presbyterian Church, 425 E. Market St. Alliance, Ohio 44601.
