Funeral services for Lynn Jason Burdick, 65, were held Thursday afternoon 2:00 o'clock at the Tretheway funeral home in charge of Rev. Charles Smith of the Princeville Methodist church. Burial was in the West Hallock cemetery.
Mr. Burdick, son of Niles A. and Marvel Davis Burdick, was born Oct. 9. 1880, at Edelstein, Ill., which was formerly known as West Hallock, and died Monday, Dec. 3, 1945.
Following the schooling in that community, he assisted his father in a blacksmith shop, learning that trade, which he followed for many years.
On June 12, 1901,hemarried Ethel Burtanna Bliss and to this union five children were born, Leslie Burdick and Effie Pinkston of Edelstein, Albert Burdick of Butler, Indiana, Ralph E. Burdick of Peoria and Neva, all of whom survive but Neva, who died in infancy.
Also surviving are his widow, three brothers, Welcome Burdick of Los Angeles Calif., and George Burdick of Peoria, ten grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Since childhood, Mr. Burdick attended the Baptist church in West Hallock, of which he was a member. He was of a sunny disposition, was well liked by everyone and will be missed by his family and a large group of friends.
