William Sewell Kelley, 73, of McAlester, died Thursday at McAlester Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Joe Ware officiating, assisted by Jim Kelley. Burial will be at Pryor Cemetery in Stuart under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester. The family will be at the North Town Church of Christ after the services. Born April 9, 1922 in White Chimney, he was the son of Luther D. and Allie May Elms Kelley. He lived most of his life in Pittsburg County and married Opal M. Thompson on Nov. 28, 1943 in McAlester. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and received a medical discharge. He had been a car salesman and most recently retired from the Creek County Sheriff's Department after 13 years service. He was a member of the McAlester Masonic Lodge No. 9. Survivors include his wife, Opal M., of the home; a daughter and son in law, Janet and Chuck Graves, Naperville, IL; two sons and daughters in law, Mike and Kim Kelley, Boston, MA, and James and Chris Kelley, DeRider, LA. Also, five sisters and brothers in law, Elsie Isenhower and Doris Moore, both of McAlester; Mildred and Jess Hoggard, Arlington, TX, Imogene and Preston Clift of Stuart, OK, and Pansy and Leroy McClendon, Grapevine, TX. And, three brothers and sisters in law, Eual and Olene Kelley, Ed and Ida Kelley, and Howard and Frances Kelley, all of Stuart; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Joe Isenhower, Roger Kelley, Bobby Clift, Leon Moore, Jimmy Johnson and Sean Kelley. Honorary pallbearers will be Hobart Grant, Wilburn Watts, Elyie Bolding, Eldred Moore, Wilson Hall, Tom Howell, Ernest Null, Clifford Watts, Bill Chapman and Mutt Elms. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jewell Kelley and Henry Kelley, and a sister, Ona Estes.
