BENSON, NORTH CAROLINA - Johnny Mart Freeman, Sr., age 71, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Pleasant Plains Community Church, 174 Boykin Road, Lillington. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Wake Chapel Memorial Gardens, 905 Wake Chapel Road, Fuquay-Varina.
Johnny was born in Swain County to the late Everette Vance and Naomi Taber Freeman. He also was preceded in death by two sons, John Mart and Aaron Luke Freeman, four brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Freeman; sons, John Matthew Freeman and wife, Dawn, and Joshua David Freeman; four grandsons; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; one brother; and two sisters.
Johnny was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and will be missed greatly by all who knew him. He loved his Savior and shared Jesus with everyone.
He was a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters for over fifty years. He served as president and other times as vice president for several years.
