He was a Danish proprietor. He was the son of wholesaler Alfred Hansen and Emmy née Gotschalck. He became famous, also outside the country's borders, as an unusually skilled breeder of cattle. He was a member of a number of boards, including The co-operating Farmers' Associations in the Diocese of Zealand, the Royal Daneske Landhusholdningsselskab from 1907, Korps Westenholz etc. He was also chairman of Værløse Parish Council 1907-22 . In 1908 he becameKnight of the Dannebrog.
