"Wes" loved to dance and was a marvelous, smooth dance partner, he loved to play shuffle board and horseshoes. He boxed semi-professionally around Philadelphia, PA until he almost killed a man. Baseball was another passion, he signed on with the New York Yankees farm team, but his first year spring training caught a high fly off third base tearing all the ligaments in his right shoulder and ending professional aspirations. He appears on the team list as "Whitey" EYRE. "Wes" was a life long fan of the Yankees. He was a member of the Masons.
