Funeral services were held last night for SIDNEY B. H. TOWNSEND, of 414 Abbott Avenue, Ridgefield, who died after a short illness from pneumonia, at his home on Tuesday night. Mr. Townsend was 73 years of age and had lived in the borough for the past eight years. He was well-known as a public speaker, having given addresses before organizations in town on many occasions. He was a prominent member of the Old Dutch Reformed Church, and the pastor of that church, the Rev. Eric T. Miller, officiated at the services. Mr. Townsend was a member of the Hackensack Council, Royal Arcanum, and many members of that organization were present at the last service for the dead brother. Mr. Townsend was long an employee of the Home Insurance Company of New York City and made his home for many years in Rochester, N. Y.
Mr. Townsend is survived by his widow, Mrs. Leonora DuBois Townsend, two sons, Albert W. and Spencer B. H., and three daughters, Mrs. Irving Labaugh, of Hackensack, Mrs. William Greiner, Jr., of Hollywood, Calif., and Mrs. Fred Benton. Interment took place this morning at Cedar Cliff, N.
