Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and teacher, Frank L. McClure, was called home to his Father in Heaven,to serve yet another mission, (which he so much wanted to do). This reunion occurred on Tuesday, July 20, 1999, when he died at home after a most valiant fight with esophageal cancer.

Frank was born on May 25, 1918, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of George W. And Esther McClure. He looks back on his childhood with joyous memories. He had a great closeness to his parents, siblings, family, and extended family...always loving, accepting, and respectful to them all. He was a delightful son, always honoring his father and mother. He enjoyed many exciting experiences in life, including playing polo for the University of Utah in his college days. He had a brilliant mind and began college at the age of 15, where he earned a degree in Business Management and Accounting. To say that he was an "active" church member would be a gross understatement. He served an honorable two-and-a-half year mission in Canada for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1937 to 1940, and two stake missions in Tucson, Arizona and Rapid City, South Dakota with his wife.Frank revered, appreciated and loved his friends and held them deep in his heart, especially those in his ward in his last days. Once a friend, always a friend. The Family and Frank so appreciated the services and concern of HOSPICE, especially the unending, kind, and loving service of Laurie McKinstry. He revered the earth and every living creature. Frank loved the finest music written by the great composers, but especially when performed by his family. He loved the smell and beauty of wood, and loved to work with it as a craftsman.

He married Frances E. Emett on June 18, 1943, for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple, traveling from Montana to Salt Lake City for the ceremony. They had a wonderful 56 years together, striving to live the gospel as they raised their children, Leslie W. McClure (Ruth Ellen), Aleta M. Hansen, David M. McClure (Frances), and Cynthia I. McClure.

As a servant of his Heavenly Father, he was tireless. As a citizen, he was one of this country's stalwart, career patriots, serving in the United States Air Force for 22 years, and retired at the rank of Major.

He is survived by his adoring wife of 56 years, Frances E. McClure; four children; 18 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary McClure; one sister-in-law, Hertha Jones; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and relatives.

HEAVEN Gone on to better life.

You have gone first, dear, and I remain to walk the streets alone. However, there is one thing I'll have you do. Walk slowly, down that long, long path and soon, I'll be with you. I want to know each step you take, that I may take the same. Walk slowly, dearest, for very soon you'll hear me calling your name. Beyond the sunset, oh blissful dawning; beyond the sunrise, I'll walk with thee. I LOVE YOU, SWEETHEART, THROUGHOUT ALL ETERNITY. I'LL SOON BE THERE. Your Loving, Frances
