She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was the daughter of the late Claude H. and Cleda "Toad" McCaslin Widener. She was also preceded in death by her husband David Armstrong. She is survived by two daughters, one granddaughter, one grandson, and one brother.
She was a member of Englewood First Baptist Church. She graduated from Englewood High School in 1960 and attended Tennessee Technology College. She was associated with First Farmers Bank, First National Bank, and Riceville Bank Englewood Branch for 40 years and then with Athens Furniture in the Accounts Payable department until her retirement.
Family and friends will meet at Smith Funeral Home at 10:00 am, Monday and go in procession for the graveside service at 11:00 am, Monday, June 12, 2023 at McMinn Memory Gardens with Rev. Russ Maples officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30 pm, Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Smith Funeral Home.
